I have the deepest utmost peace as the COVID-19 Coronavirus impacts me, my family, my workplace and my daily activities.

My trust is in God and in His promises.

Psalm 91 is such a beautiful description of what occurs when you put your trust completely in God. God’s peace and presence replaces all fear in all circumstances and outcomes. This Psalm even mentions times of pandemic (another word for pestilence which is included in this Psalm).

What is trusting in God? Choosing to believe in everything the Bible says about who God is, entering into a personal relationship with God through salvation through Jesus Christ, and actively trusting God in everything through conversation with God (prayer) and faith. Actively trusting God is an act of faith that says I believe you are who you say you are, therefore you are in control no matter the circumstances I find myself in, therefore I have no reason to fear because you’ve got me in every situation I am in. I am not alone and I am not solely trying to defend and protect myself. God, you defend and protect me. This gives me deep abiding comfort, assurance and peace.

As a result of my salvation…where I acknowledged my unacceptable state before God (because He is holy & I am not), acknowledged and accepted Jesus Christ as God who intervened in my place to make a way for me to be acceptable to God, and exchanged my uncleanliness (sin) for God’s forgiveness and holiness through Jesus…God actively lives in me through His Spirit…I have the presence of God in me…which is so awesome!! This is why I have no fear. Nothing, no disease or even death, can separate me from God and His love for me and His presence with me.

Romans 8:35-39 says “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

With this in mind, I invite you to reflect on Psalm 91.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. ”

God invites you to experience His peace, His protection and His love. It is real, it is tangible and it is available to you. It comes from the place of dwelling (living) with God. Will you allow yourself to explore who God is, what you mean to Him, what He has done for you and how He longs for you to know Him?

Entering into a wonderful, life-changing, life-giving relationship with God takes seconds. It is so simple, however it is a choice that requires authenticity, humbleness and faith.
