The Bible isn’t just a book of words. It is the most impactful and insightful book that has ever been written. In the words of the Bible is where you find God, you find yourself and you find the guidebook for life.
The bible was authored over many centuries by God, by Him speaking to and instructing men what to write and record.
Where do I get this from? From the Bible itself in the following passages:
All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16)
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21)
The Bible is a collection of 66 books that describe God and mankind from the time the world was created to the end times when the world as we know it will be destroyed and God will rule supreme.
It is not a book that you usually pick up and read from start to finish every time. Rather you can read anywhere as wisdom is to be found on every page.
It is arranged in chapters and verses and I will often reference verses from the Bible in my blog. For example the first reference from the Bible above 2 Timothy 3:16 represents the following: 2 Timothy = the book of the Bible, 3 = the chapter and 16 = the verse.
There are a number of translations of the Bible available that translate the original text that was in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek into today’s languages.
I prefer to read and reference the New International Version of the Bible.
The Bible is readily accessible to us today and God is waiting for you to read it so He can show you who He is.
